History

I have been a Roanoke resident since birth.
So far, I have never traveled anywhere that compares
to the wonderful lifestyle that the Roanoke Valley offers.
Because of this, my wife and I decided to stay in the Roanoke
Valley once we were married. We have a son named Greyson and a daughter named Addison. We also have two Cocker Spaniels, named Molly and Sandi.

Education and Career

Growing up, I attended Roanoke City Public Schools. After graduating from Patrick Henry High School, I persued my undergraduate degree at Roanoke College. There I recieved a B.A. in Fine Art that was accompanied by a Marketing Concentration. Through college, I worked as a freelance graphic designer and as a designer in the college's Publications Office. Directly after college, I went to work for The Roanoke Times as a graphic designer in their advertising department for five years. While working as a graphic designer, I began to persue my teaching career. I enrolled through the University of Virginia, where I received my M. Ed. in Elementary Education, providing me with a PreK-6 Virginia teaching endorsement. I am also state licensed to teach K-12 art. This is my sixth year teaching third grade at Crystal Spring.

Hobbies and Interests

I enjoy many different activities. However, my background in the arts consumes a large amount of my free time. In addition, I am a do-it-yourself kind of guy. I enjoy building, demolishing, and rebuilding just about anything around the house. I also like to do carpentry work, ride my mountain bike, swim in my pool, spend time outside with my son, and take my Jeep Wrangler out for a spin. Yes, I have to admit, I do play an occasional video game or two.
